TOURNAMENTS RUELS:
Traditional: Tournament adheres to the Traditional Format.
Advanced: Tournament adheres to the Advanced Format, meaning some cards are not allowed. Visit UDE.com/ADV for the current Bann list.
Match Vs Duel: TO's (Tournament Organizer) may choose to have only duels, where each game is just 1 duel, while a match is where the two duelists play untill 2 wins are aquired for one duelist.
Attribute: You are only allowed 1 monster Attribute, meaning, out of all the monsters in your deck, they must all be the same attribute. Additional rules may apply.
Type: You are only allowed 1 monster Type. Additional rules may apply.
Elemental: You are only allowed 1 monster Attribute, and generally Light and Dark attributes are banned, although the attributes that are banned could vary. Additional rules may apply.
Restricted: Sometimes, in addition to the Traditional or Advanced format (whichever the tournament adheres to) additional cards may be banned. Most popular being Jinzo.
Forced Card(s): Forced cards are cards that are mandatory. Sometimes a TO may have a list of cards, or one card that they want their players to use. This could be any card, from monsters, to spells, to traps, to even Normal monsters or Rituals and Fusions. Forced cards make the duelist think about how they can utilize the restriction placed on them to their advantage. Examples of Forced Cards are: Jinzo, Rivalry of Warlords, Polymerization, etc.
Forced Type/Attribute: Sometimes the TO may declare that only 1 type of type or attribute is allowed. This is similar to the “Type” and “Attribute” Formats, but in this case, you have no choice. These formats are not commonly used.
Limited: This is basically a huge version of Restricted; you block a whole group of cards (like: Spells Forbidden, every monster below lvl 7 forbidden etc.), but that's not all! You can also forbid attacks, forbid to normal summon/set etc.
Objective: In this "format", you must accomplish something before winning the duel. For instance, you may need to summon a monster, or perform some kind of requirement, like flip summoning a monster. Winning without accomplishing the objective will mean a loss instead, except when the reason you won without meeting the objective is because of your opponent's actions. (they suicided themselves) This results in a draw. 2 successive draws this way (or whatever the TO decides) and the person who had LP left both times wins. Additional rules may apply.
Structure Decks: premade decklists are provided in the Deck Palace. Duelists must pick from one of the decklists. It is up do the descression of the TO to decide if they have the ability to replace a number of cards or not. It's up to the TO to decide which decks the duelists can choose from by providing the link.
Deckmasters
Players may use these in two types.
#1. Players pick a Monster card from their starting hands (the first 5 cards) and use them as a deckmaster. If they use this, they must Re-Shuffle their starting hands and draw another 5 cards. Then the duel starts.
#2. Players use any monster from their deck and use it as their deckmaster.
Make sure to follow the Deckmaster Rules and Guidlines.
